typographic approach to the cover was developed upon Benge’s
idea to list the photographers’ names
in alphabetical order – the same order of appearance through
the book (a gentle point of reference if needed). This composition
required intense
“knitting” of
names and white space to have the piece work in a pleasing and easy
manner. As well, I wanted to embed the title and authors’ names
in such a way that flowed without disruption – quite a challenge,
but wonderful working
with Didot. The oversized letter “A” hints
to the ABC of photographers – a nice
tool referencing learning. |
