1996 / I remember this Creative New Zealand project as both exciting and complicated content-wise. Sue Paterson who was at the International Festival of the Arts at the time, worked with me on this compilation of performing artists in New Zealand. From memory, we later updated and published a 1998 edition, followed by a 2000 edition. The directory became a model for subsequent similar-genre publications among other organisations, and contributed to setting the tone for the next decade of CNZ publications that we produced, including the profile, annual report, two strategic plans, the annual funding guide, various research/survey documents (Know Your Audience, Portrait of the Artist), Celebrating the Arts, and the quarterly On Arts magazine.
