In 2002, Nicholas Stevens, of Nicholas Stevens Architects, formed a partnership with colleague, Gary Lawson, to establish Stevens Lawson Architects Limited. The partners wanted to establish an identity that would reflect the personality of the partnership and its architecture. The architects asked to be presented with an idea that would surprise and excite them, in the same way they present architecture ideas for their own clients.
